I don’t know about you, but me? I LOVE my crisps! Apple Crisp, Rhubard Crisp, Blueberry Crisp- the list goes on…and I’ve finally perfected the perfect crumb topping that works on them all. If you LOVE your crumb topping (and lots of it- none of that skimpy stuff!), this recipe is for you!
Ingredients:
-1 cup quick oats
-1 cup all-purpose flour
-1 cup brown sugar
-2 teaspoons cinnamon
-1/8 teaspoon salt
-1/2 cup + 2 Tablespoons butter (melted)
Combine all dry ingredients with a pastry blender, whisk, or fork. Pour melted butter over mixture and mix until crumbly. Sprinkle over filling {I will be sharing an apple pie filling canning recipe SOON, which I love to use with this topping!}.
You can use any of your crisp recipes and substitute in this topping.
{Pictured here is an apple crisp (prior to baking) prepared in an 8″x8″ pan. You will have a good 2″ layer of topping}
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Filling will be bubbly!
