I wear many hats: wife, mother, caretaker of the home, homesteader, animal lover, gardener, preserver, forager, DIY-er, hunter, fisher{wo)man, adventurer…
and there is yet another side of me.
I often say that I have too many hobbies. And I do. There just is not enough time in the day for the things I both have to do and want to do. But throughout my life, I’ve always had a need to cultivate my artistic side. In blog land, I’m better known for that part of me. My “escape” side. The one part of me that lets me pretend to be more of a “girl”, ha! I am one of the biggest tomboys you will ever meet- but one would likely not believe that when they see my work. I’m a bit of an avid scrapbooker, mixed media artist, and misc. papercrafter. I’m fortunate to design for some of the top brands in the papercraft industry which allows me to support this hobby without affecting me {negatively} financially.
And though I have a bit of experience with papercrafting, I am not so experienced in painting. But I’ve always longed to learn. So I’ve been trying my hand at watercolor painting and thought it would be fun to share with you here {being that it’s relevant} what I dabbled in yesterday.
If you’re like me and you love roosters or chickens in general, you probably have some rooster art or figurines displayed in your house. I know I do {a share for another day I suppose!} and so I aim to create pieces that I would love to have on my own walls. And I’d better, considering I just might end up with a rooster art hoard like I do with my scrapbooking work. {Ugh!}
This original watercolor is available in my Etsy shop. {Ahh…another one of my many hobbies and adventures}.
Thanks for taking a peek.I hope life is going well with you…and that you too make time to enjoy doing the things you love!

That is beautiful, truly. Popping over to peek at your shop!
Could that Rooster be the progeny of two of my chickens? Goldie Hen and Kurt Roostle?
